Can I make an account here?
Currently, there are no intentions of setting up a formal account system. This is to limit collection of your information. We may use a cookie-key system in the future for you to keep progress. But this is not currently implemented.
Do you sell our information?
No. We do not collect, store, or request any information from you.
Do you do sponsorships?
No. We have no interest in promoting or selling products based on sponsorships. We do, however, accept course invitations, books, and other material if you’d like us to post an honest review.
Why is everything free? What’s the catch?
No catch. This is a passion project spurred on by a love and interest in the Craft. This is also not the first time I’ve shared free education-based resources. Although it no longer exists, my first website in 2005-10 had photoshop, web design, and programming tutorials.
Who runs this website?
A single practitioner, parent, spouse, and full-time software engineer. If you need to get in contact with me, you can do so here.
Do you accept donations?
Reach out to me if you would like to donate something, whether thats books, courses, or other forms of donations.
How often do you release content?
It varies. This is a passion project so I try to avoid burnout when possible. I also have a full-time job and am a parent. This also limits my freetime. Join the newsletter for notifications of new content.
Do you have a discord?
No. And currently, there are no plans to add one. I spend much of my time on discord in a specific server and help manage things there. To maintain the commitment and love of that community, I will keep my focus there.
Do you have a patreon?
No. I have no interest in creating paid content. It requires a level of commitment I cannot maintain and risks burnout. In an effort to avoid that and create high-quality content and reviews, it will need to remain free.
Are you associated with other parties content on this site?
We are not associated with, nor share the viewpoints of, any of the third-party resources linked or referenced on this website. Nor are these third-parties associated with us or share our views. The Witching Academy is first and foremost and independent and free source for information.
Do you use AI?
No. The sources for AI often are in violation of copyright law and steal material from artists, authors, and other content creators. I have no interest in supporting such a technology. Everything on this website is human-curated and no algorithm nor AI is involved.
What technology do you use for this website?
Everything from the database structure, code, artwork, and content is written and created by me. I do use Grammarly to doublecheck my spelling and grammar. I don’t use a third-party website builder or many plugins. If that changes, I’ll update it here.
Book Club
Can I use your bookclub resources to host my own bookclub?
Of course! I host a bookclub myself and these are the resources from hosting it and each book we’ve tackled. They include a proposed reading schedule and prompts for those assignments to keep you on track.
Are you affiliated with the authors or publishers?
No. All of my bookclub resources are unofficial, and created purely by me. The author and publisher have no knowledge nor affiliation with the material.
Can I join your bookclub?
I host it on this discord server. You’re free to join us there.
Workshops
Who can signup for workshops?
You must be 18+ to signup and participate in our workshops. Otherwise, there are no restrictions other than seat availability and a required respectful attitude.
Are workshops recorded?
We do not record workshops to ensure everyone’s privacy who is present.
What timezone are workshop times?
Everything is in eastern timezone.
